Teresa Kalnoskas

My artwork is a meditation. Focusing on an object’s essence is primarily how I immerse myself into the process‚ its relationships, history, and symbolism. I incorporate the current environment into work through the interpretation of traditional and contemporary still life genres.
Opus 29 addresses gravity, graceful falling and temporary suspension, a significant shift in movement from prior works. The object is not the end, but a departure for giving narrative to our human condition through simultaneous movement and pause. I am increasingly drawn to those works which define the universal in the particular.
My iconic, action-driven, still-life inspired, large-scale abstract oil paintings have been exhibited in top galleries and museum extensively in the West and Northeast with corporate collections of the work throughout the US and in Asia. Museum representation has included: Triton Museum of Art, Schweinfurth Museum of Art, Fitchburg Art Museum, Arnot Art Museum, and California Museum of Art.
