Julie Walker is a second-generation Bay Area native. She went to college at the Art Institute of Chicago where she was encouraged to combine her interests of printmaking and sculpture. After graduating she moved back to the Bay Area and stumbled upon Bullseye Glass in Emeryville. Glass was the medium she had been waiting for, and she embraced it immediately. It has a wonderful way of combining so many diverse interests, the process itself can yield endless possibilities. Julie enjoys the ability to experiment, try new things, and never stop learning which glass definitely provides! Her work investigates the spiritual and sacred – exploring a forgotten thread of language and meaning waiting to be revealed.
